But now I'm not going out in the dark, thanks Don. LOL, just kidding.
But seriously, was the two bats at the same time or different encounters? And did you have to get the rabies immunization? I understand they are not fun.
Bats

Two different encounters at about 3 yrs apart. You betcha I got the immunizatiion. They were NOT my first exposures. #2 Son & I had a joint exposure via a coyote back in 1996. Son shot it while we were deer hunting & while skinning it out, we both cut our fingers. He had shot it through the head & had brain tissue scattered pretty well all over the carcass.
Immunization now is a piece of cake. Gone are the 14 shots in the belly fat that apparently are pretty painful.
Protocol consists of a shot in the butt of Gamma Globuin to give you an immediate dose of anti-bodies. This one is delivered through a basketball inflation needle attached to a bicycle tire pump & you must be either lying on your belly or leaning over a bed.
The rabies shots themselves are given on days 0, 3, 7, 14, & 28 & consist of a freeze-dried powder suspended in distilled water. Given in the upper arm & are less painful than any shot I've ever gotten. (Unless, of course, the nurse giving the injection gets distracted & doesn't add the powder to the water. That makes your arm feel like it's going tofal off! Don't ask how I know that. ) Very, very few side effects. I had one that was weird - exactly three day post shot, I went for 24 hrs w/my eyes not focusing correctly. Annoying, but tolerable. I just did not drive during that period.

...snakes. They don't hear your PM! They have no ears.
Since I have taken the obvious answer to one issue, I'll leave the others for someone else to speculate on. Lessee, there's feel, smell, see, taste left. Well, maybe there's a sixth sense we don't know about. If you kept pit vipers, we'd have to throw in temp sensing, but you're too smart to keep them.
So far, we've covered dogs, cats, sharks, dolphins & now snakes.
How about if we throw in bats? I've had two bats fly through my hair in a physical contact encounter. Here in the US any physical contact w/ a bat gets you rabies immunization. Anyone else had any untoward experiences w/bats since being implanted?
