learning to trust my body

the site of implant is healing well and i find myself using my left arm maybe too much without thinking.
the fear is ebbing and lastnight i slept quite well :)
smoking is becoming easier as im not craving as much :) its day 23 without nicotine.

Adjustment

Hey Abi,

My brother is a pharmacist and he says it can 3-4 weeks to adjust to beta blockers. You are obviously adjusting to several new things, give it a few a more days.

Your shortness of breath could be related to the not smoking- your lungs are going through a huge adjustment (for the good).

You go girl, keep it up,

You're doing really well, Abi. Give yourself a pat on the back (not with the arm on the pacer side, of course!) Keep up the good work - it'll get easier with every day. Good Luck. Sheila

thank you :)

... another 24 hours...another whole day..tell yourself how well you are doing..or read this out loud to yourself.

"I'm really doing well. I accept that its not easy, but I have proved to myself that a whole day can be done and that means that I can do another one"

Houses are built brick by brick.

Each day,..another brick. Bricks, such durable things on which to build a great personal future.

Hang in there Abi

Mr and Mrs Tattoo Man.

PS ,is it me or are the evenings getting really dark all of a sudden ?..round here all the ploughing and discing is done. We are surrounded by brand new fields , ready for the next years crop. Abi,...what a lyrically elegant time of the year to commence your new 'you' ?

Shortness of breath

by ElectricFrank - 2012-09-21 12:09:05

How long did you go needing a pacemaker before you had it implanted. Sometimes the lack of good circulation due the previous condition can affect your body in ways that take some recovery time.

It was only 2 days between my AV block and the implant so I was still in good shape when they turned on the pacer. But we all aren't that lucky.

Give it some time, but keep moving.
