I am new to this web site today. I had an extensive myocardial infraction (widow maker) on October 1, 2011. ICD put in January 4, 2012.
My question is about Coreg.
I have been taking 3.125 Coreg (cut in half and taken twice a day). The reason that I am on such a low dose is my sensitivity to Coreg (and other medications). My pulse rate is low normally (in 50s) and could not handle more when I started on it 8 months ago. Research and my Doctor are telling me that being on more may provide me with more benefits.
I am thinking about switching to 10 mg extended release Coreg once a day or a 3.125 in morning and 12 hrs later taking a half of a 3.125 pill. The time release version might be best. I like the idea of taking it in the morning and being done with it.
Please give me thoughts and experiences of taking extended release capsule. How have others reacted to an increase in Coreg? Thanks and have a blessed day.

Hi! Have been takinG Coreg since 2004. Coreg is a potent medication, but has helped many to live a better quality life longer. Dosing is critical to your individual heart needs, so please make all dosing changes with your medical care, so important. Hopeful Heart

I tried the 3.125 twice daily and it was like somebody had cut a leg or something to bleed me. My B/P got so low I was non-preforming. Started 1.5 once daily and have had no issues since. I guess it's all up to what your body wants/needs!
Good luck!
