At the risk of being called a nutter!!

Hi to all,
I have this wierd thing that goes on in my head from time to time ..mainly when I am in heart failure and water retention.

For example if.. I have an afternoon nap as I "nod off" I seem to have people in my head talking about all sorts of thing that I know nothing about... I seems to start with just a thought and then all this nonsense... it must only last a few seconds because I wake up as soon as I am "off" ...SOB and my heart all over the place.... and it feels horrible..... this lasts a few seconds and then it starts the same cycle again.

I was wondering if anyone else has suffered this... and if so how do you cope with it...and what do you think it is?. personally I think it has to do with a sort of fluid drowning and perhaps sleeping when you are not particularly tired... no good telling the docs they would send me away with a flea in my ear... or send for the big cart with the yellow wheel's!!!.

Any input on this would be appreciated at least then If someone else has experienced this at least I would know I have not lost the plot!!! have a nice weekend everyone .Peter.N

when you give over as in going to sleep you are giving in to not being in control. i think it is the sob that is causing this. also very intelligent people always have something going on in their heads. i was exactly like susan. i felt as though everything in my life was just fine even tho i was not getting enough oxygen and i too was not alarmed. made me think after life herafter can't be so bad. so no you are not a nutter at all jess

Wow guys!

I think I'm missing out on some excitement here! I agree with Pacergirl about the meds, and with Jessie that the sob contributes to a lack of oxygen to the brain. Certain prescription and over the counter medications have caused some bizarre reactions in me, including terrible nightmares! I would really prefer the soft colors, voices and sense of peace you guys are having! I can't wait to read more comments about this topic! I also agree with everyone about Peter not being a nutter by any means!

Not a nutter

Often when I start dropping off to sleep at night I have this recurring sort of nightmare that I have not taken my medication and because of this I am going to die!
I wake up with a jolt. I told my sp and he said it must be ghastly. So I guess we all freak out about different things.

All the best Billie

Sleep Weirdness

by bobad - 2008-09-27 09:09:51

Pete,

When I drift off to sleep in an unusual situation (meaning not in my bed at my usual bedtime) I get a lot of weirdness. I usually drift off for only a minute or 2, have a weird dream, and wake up with my head spinning and my heart and respiration racing. Now,,, does the little nap and dream trigger the heart weirdness, or does the heart weirdness trigger the weird dream? Dunno!

Needless to say, I try to avoid those little naps. They cause more drama than they're worth.

Best of health,,,

To one nutter to another...

Hello Pete,

This may come as a surprise to you however.... Pre PM implant.... When my heart was stopping for however many seconds, it was very weird. While laying in bed and I found myself completely focused on the fact that my heart was stopping. I wasn't alarmed because I was not getting enough oxygen to my brain so I couldn't think clearly. I would have the oddest most interesting thoughts.... weird things... nothing scary, but peaceful, soft and at restful, at first. That's was why I wasn't alarmed. It was a world of colors and yes soft voices... The trouble was that I began to see that "they" wanted me to stay. Strange I know.

As it turns out with the heart block and the bradyacardia I just was not getting enough heart activity to keep me going. I am fine now with the PM. The beautiful colors have gone away and the soft voice.

Is it possible that when you are experiencing the SOB that you are not getting enough Oxygen. Especially when you are asleep?
Also you may want to consider it could quite possibly be a side effect of the medications you are taking. Some meds take some time to show the side effects and sometimes your body begins to change how it reacts.

You are not a nutter, and if you are, I am glad to know you!
love, Pacergirl
