It's been three weeks since they fixed the hole a lead punched through my heart. I did some moderately hard work today (still keeping my arm down) and felt kinda weird. But I think that's appropriate to this stage of the game; just little aches and pains and different feelings than I am used to.
I am just SOOOO greatful to be rid of that feeling like someone just stabbed my through the chest with an ice pick!!!!
They want me to take it a little easy for a while longer than normal, but I think that's because I had a hole in myheart and I climb trees for a living. hanks for all of the help and support guys! Yer the best!

So glad your doing better. However do take it easy as they told you to. I'm curious though how did that hole actually happen? Did the lead came loose. I have a fractured lead some where and its kinda freaky.. I think it has to be replaced. Not at all looking forward to having this done. And? Did u have to have open heart to fix it.??

LOL.
For me, taking it easy is not pulling myself into a tree on a rope, not throwing 100 pound logs over my shoulder and carrying them 300 yards, not pushing cars up my drvieway, etc.
The doctor who installed the lead said it was all my fault, but the fact is he was having a hard time getting it to stick and I think he screwed it in too far. I was sticking out of the heart wall and was pacing my diaphragm. Luckily, it wasn't firmly implanted yet, so moving it wasn't a problem. They had to do it in a thoracic OR just in case the hole didn't clot up. If that would have happened, they would have had to do open heart to stop the bleeding.
If your lead has been there a long time, it's kinda hard to get it out. Sometimes, they just leave them in there and put a new lead in a different location. If they do that, it's no worse than the original installation.
Hope things work out for you. Keep us informed
