~~One of those days~~

Hi Everyone,
I have just had a remarkable day.... I had to go to the Docs for a blood test quite early.... and the staff at desk were so pleasant and kind ..then in to see the nurse who stabbed me with a needle about 3 foot long and she was a gentle as a kitten ..and I thought how pleasant it restores your faith in mankind....

I came home and read my mails from my pacerfriends which is what I live for these days.. and then jumped on my mobility scooter and down to the post office and it was one of those rare days you get here in the winter in the UK . ... when the sun is bright in a clear blue sky and not a breath of wind. just right for old codgers like me to be out and about.. it really was lovely... And of course this time of the year you have all the oldies hustling and bustling about..... sending their cards and pressies off to loved ones .... and of course the sun always puts a smile on people faces.. well at least here it does in the uk.
After lunch had a bit of a rest and sat inside with the winter sun streaming through the window.... and thought what a smashing day it had been .I dont seem to get many days where I REALLY feel well enough to enjoy such a good time....

And I thought what a great year it has been for me.. forget the hearts and the ICDs/pacemakers... we have to live with them... but for all that it has bought me at least one of the best years I have had....
All down really to this wonderful club we have here. and we must thank Blake for his efforts to keep it all up and running for us!!!

As most of you know Susan (Pacergirl) visited me all the way from Kansas.. we had a wonderful time and I am sure we will be life long friends... we talk every day....(Hope you are feeling better today Susie).
.Then I have another Susan (Queen Beeze) she is like my adopted daughter.... I love her to bit's between her and my wife Nina I have to behave myself or I get it in the neck. truly she is a lovely girl.

And then "Amanda" my Aussie connection.. always keeps in touch.. a real friend.... mind you she is a bit of a softie he he I wont tell you why!!!
Then we have Jessie..my goodness she pops up everywhere and lovely sense of humor and always a kind word...

I have just recently spoke to Cathryn B... another nice caring "lady" all you have to do is read her post's and you will see what I mean.

I could go on .. Auntiessam/Dominique/Valerie/ Smitty/ect.ect
Everyone of you makes this club what it is....old.. young.... male female......
I would just like to wish you "ALL" a very happy and healthy Christmas and new year. and to thank you all for being a part of this big happy family .. . Thank you all for making this year so great.
PS. a special Chrismas message to "Lenora" hope you are well and have a nice one. Peter N.

What a great post, Peter! It made me feel like I was reading a short story and I was right there with you enjoying your nice day (well...I could do without that needle!). I'm so glad that the sun and all put a smile on your face, a spring in your step, and warmed you through and through.

This forum IS great and the people ARE even greater! And Blake is the king!

Merry Christmas,
ela-girl

Hi,
I have been a member here for awhile, but have never posted. This post for some reason moved me to leave a comment. It is so refreshing to here you talk about how good of a day you are having Peter. I know what you mean that you cherish the good ones because they are less than the bad.

The people on this forum are the best. I have learned alot and sympathize with others. It is a great family of people here.

Happy Holidays to all!!

Brian

This is what it's all about!

What a wonderful post, Peter! As I was reading, I could just about feel the warmth of the sun, and the beauty of the day as it unfolded for you. We all experience a day or two, or hopefully many, like you did. The difference is that we must acknowledge them, relish them, and give thanks for them! When we start doing this, we realize how blessed we are! I hope you have a special Christmas.
