I was shopping the other day and received an "electric shock" from the metal around one of the refridgeraters..it was quite a zap as my finger realized it for quite some time.. but I also had quite a jolt (as I believed) through my pacemaker.. It thumped so hard and I felt quite a strange feeling in my chest and thoat for about 30 seconds.
Anyone else had this experience?

A few times, when I was volunteering in my local hospital, I received some VERY strong static shocks from the metal plates you press to open doors. It stung for quite a while on my fingers, but the shock went through my chest and lingered there too. HATE that!!

I get them by my TV, phone and wall switch. I told my husband its from my pacemaker. He of course thinks I am crazy.

Were you wearing a HR monitor by any chance?
I was wearing a cheapee heart rate monitor that I bought. I don't remember the brand name but it didn't require wearing a transmitter strap around your chest, it was all in the watch. Everytime I touched the freezer doors in a certain supermarket, I got zapped. I brought it into Cardiac Rehab and one of the Nurses put it on and touched metal on a treadmill and she got zapped. She does not have a pacemaker or ICD. So I bought it back to the store and told them. Then I got a Polar HR monitor. No problems with it all.
