Hi all. Sorry I have taken so long to get on here again. I had my first surgery in June right before my wedding. (quite emergency) My pacemaker was placed just under my skin. After I went back for my check-up I told the doctor the pc was working well but was not happy with the way it looked. I actually had issues with the seat belt rubbing in the car and sleeping on that side at night would move the pc into my collar bone and make it difficult to sleep on that side. He suggested another Doctor in my area and after consulting with him, he told me the way the pc was pushing on my skin and causing pressure points on the area that would decrease the blood flow to the skin causing necrosis ( dieing skin) I was able to have second surgery and have the pc placed under the muscle with my insurance covering it 100 percent. I had the surgery in August, just 8 weeks after the first surgery. I healed again thankfully within the week and have had no problems. I am running and have good movement in my arm. I am much happier with the results and the other problems with the seat belt and sleeping on that side are no longer problems. In fact I am hardly aware that this pc is inside me keeping me alive. I want to say I am very thankful that all is well and hopefully this posting will be helpful to others. D.

I am just grateful to God that I lived long enough to have my ICD put in. So many people are not as lucky as us; even though we sometimes don't feel lucky.
great news!

Hi! You seem so happy now. I am so glad you are comfortable. So kind of you to share your experience to help others. I think quite a few issues that get posted are due to unskilled/unexperienced device placement. I hope you continue to do so well. Hopeful Heart
