Hey Everyone!!!

Has anyone ever gone from a Single Chamber Pacemaker to a Dual Chamber Pacemaker? Did you feel any different? Better or Worst?

Also has anyone ever experienced Pacemaker Syndrome? What were your symptoms?

Please let me know!!

After my pm was implanted I was admitting into the hospital less than a week after with pacemaker syndrome. I had a lot of chest pain and I was feeling every single time I was pacing.. They ended up having to go back in to change one of my leads because it was in the wrong place in my heart.. Now it's 3 weeks since then I'm feeling much better! Still a big adjustment but I'm getting there. Hope you are feeling good!

Hi Steph!!

Thanks for the comment! I never experienced that but I am trying to find out if anyone has had a single chamber before and gone to a dual chamber. I am 24 years old, I had a single chamber since i was one month old

I just implanted my sixth pacemaker on June 21st, i tired getting a dual chamber but they couldnt get the atrial lead into the vein bc my veins are so tiny =( I am okay now but i just went for my three month follow up and they were talking about more options for the dual chamber implant. They don't know if i have pacemaker syndrome though.

Hi again!

I'm 22 years old I had a temporary pacemaker placed on the outside for a month that was single lead .. I got my permanent pacemaker in three weeks ago and it has two leads I don't feel a difference.. But I'm also not using the second lead its in case of an emergency! I hope everything turns okay and they figure something out! Too young to feel old haha! Well if you ever want to talk message me! Feel better <3

I'm 25. Had my first pm at 12. Single chamber until 2 months ago. I'm very active and work as a personal trainer. For day to day living I don't notice much of a change. But when I'm riding the bike, running or lifting weights I notice a difference. Because of the atrial kick I'm getting more oxygenated blood flow with every beat so I'm getting less lactic acid built up and a higher work capacity.

If your active you will notice a big difference.

Heyyy how do you notice? My single chamber is implanted in ventricle and atrial works without pacemaker. Only ventricle is paced. I notice heart goes fast but that's because they made my pacemaker go up to 170 but lower rate is 60
