PACs

After a night in hospital for pain and SOB, I had another check up yesterday. Cardio said that I was having premature atrial beats not ventricular beats, as my ventricle was doing ok but atrium 100% paced. He now wants me to see a shrink to help me to forget that I can feel these. The thing is I don't mind them, they are just a nuisance.
He thinks that the SOB, pain and 'funny feeling' in heart is the arteries contracting ,variant angina, and since I react badly to all the appropriate drugs there is not much he can do. I just have to rest and take the GTN spray when necessary.
I wonder if anyone else has this? Life seems a bit difficult to manage as I don't have any energy left, which is not me. I would really appreciate any help with this.

Hello Double A,

Sorry to hear that you aren't feeling well.

I used to have PACs back in my afib days and they are very uncomfortable. For me the night times were the worst.

My doctor gave me an anxiety drug called chlonozepam- I may have mis- spelled that. It really helped me get through a rough patch. You might ask him about that-

Sometimes we all have a spell to work through- keep your head up and stay busy, hope you feel like yourself again soon.

Just read you posting and sorry to hear you are not too good.

I suffered terrible anxiety when I first got my PM and it was necessary to take a tablet - lexapro seemed to do the trick after I reacted so badly to other drugs. I was recently able to wean myself off it.

We are leaving Tasmania for a round trip of Aus on 2 March - Victoria, SA WA NT Qld, NSW. Have you returned to SA it would be good to meet up as per
PM year of friendships.

Take care, get well soon.

Thanks Billie. I am not suffering from anxiety though. I have had pm 18 months.I suppose I am just a bit fed up with the way things are going.
When do you leave for your trip? If you are in SA do visit.

Thanks for your concern EB. I don't usually feel miserable. I don't want drugs though as I seem to react badly to most. I know I have to pace myself instead of trying to rush around like I used to. It is just good to know I can put my feelings here, where people understand.

I am just now 40 but have had these blackouts all my life. I am thrilled with the pacer and would do it all over again.
