stage 3 heart failure and low blood oxygen

Hi everyone been a while since I have posted any thing here, it is going on 2 years this March and April, when my ICD/CRT-D was implanted, Now I am having troubles again with my blood oxygen, can't seem to get above 88 which was just diagnose as my baseline, I do have sleep apnea, my sleep doctor told me it isn't the apnea affecting my blood oxygen, I went to my primary doctor on Thursday, he said my lungs sounded clear. Can heart failure get worse even with, my icd/crt-d I was put on oxygen last friday, with my cpap machine, at 3 liters of oxygen, so far only at night when I sleep. Has any one had problems in this area?

Hi sunnywishes: the doctor who put me on the oxygen on friday was my new sleep doctor, my other sleep doctor, left his practice and didn't inform his patients so what I got from the sleep doctor, I had low blood oxygen levels for over last 7 months, in total, almost 9 months, the sleep doctor told me he is only interest in my sleep apna and not what is going on with my heart other that he told the oxygen that he put me on, would take the stress off my heart the rest it seems to left up to my cardiologist to decide what goes on from here, My primary doctor really much help. See their did oximeter low blood oxygen test on last Thursday night, friday morning I gave the meter back to tech at around 10:00 in the morning, then around 4:30 that same day ( friday) I got a called from lincare, telling me dr. had order the oxygen machine, big machine, which is being piggyback into my cpap machine. Since last friday been in the dark, can someones heart failure gotten worse even with our devices, I am having symtons like had before implant, I sleep well at night, just tired no extra engery I first had after the implant, now I seem I am back to square one again. During the test my blood oxygen levels got above 88% even going to bathroom and back, I did have this problem really bad before the implant and the cpap therpay was start, at the time couldn't get above 79%. any way thanks for your encouragement sunnywishes. Love Carolann

thank you

Perhaps you could go to a pulmonary dr. Even if your lungs sound clear there can be problems to cause low blood oxygen, a pulmonaey dr can find that problem. The low oxygen is why you are filling tired, get yourself a oxyimeter they are not that expensive. It sounds like oxygen at night is not doing the job for you during the day. Do it soon as low oxygen is hard on your whole system. Good luck Jean
