Check your PM manual

I got told the same thing. At the step down facility they wouldn't even let me in the same room with a microwave.

When I finally got home, read my PM manual. It said I didn't have to worry about any microwave ovens. Shows you how much the medical people know. So you'll want to read your PM manual (If you got one).

Worst case, call your PM manufacturer or go online. I'm sure they'll tell you you don't have to worry about microwave ovens.

rolling eyes

Microwaves haven't been an issue for many years! Don't worry about it. There are virtually no home appliances we need to be careful around. Most of the things that can cause problems are industrial, not things you'll run into very often.

...very appropriate. If that microwave were going to affect your PM, it would congeal the vitreous fluid inside your eyeball just like the white of an egg - FIRST.

So if you can see while near a Microwave oven, your PM is safe - at least for your PM!

There are two times when a Microwave is NOT safe for ANYONE!
1) If the window is cracked and /or the metal screen behind/inside the window is cracked or distorted it will definitely leak radiation.

2) If the door is warped so that the magnetic seal around it will NOT make perfect contact w/ the oven's body, it will leak radiation around that joint. Add to that situation a situation where paper or plastic wrap hangs out through the door joint.

microwaves

No one told me about microwave ovens. Nothing in the book either. I frequently stand in front of mine. Nothing has happened.

Funny this should come up.

I just had one installed a few days ago and Yea I'm feeling much better. I'm retired and weld small projects and having been researching the issue. Google for europace.eus345.full.pdf and reach your own conclusions. This is a very resent study and I feel will help put a lot of old wives tale to bed. What they did I don't believe I was exposé to as a H.V. Electrician. I also believe that these devise's have evolved and will continue to improve. My DR has already says I can weld and the rep. is going to come out to my home to monitor me when I weld just to be see if there is any effect. I think one must use common sense like nuke your coffee with the door open because the door safety failed. That why I have a new one.

That why I posted the information and let the individual come to there own answerers. I think the real power of groups like this is good information. I personally don't like to stand at the top of the hill scream I have the answerer's. I sure don't and topic likes these are so full of misinformation. This study that should be read for one piece of mind. Like MRI are easy to understand why it bad news. I really like how Dizzytiltingwoozy put it. It so true. Everyone have a fine day.

regular welding is fine. Arc welding is the only kind we need to be careful of, but there are members here who do it. If you search, you should be able to find the discussions. How nice that they're willing to send the rep to your house to test it! Not many drs/reps go the extra mile like that.

Sometimes I think common sense is a dying breed.
