Hello Folks,

We didn't get a pardon, but we did a reprieve. The "mass" in my wife's (Dottie) pancreas has not changed in size or appearance since the CT 4 months ago. There are invasive tests that can be run, or we can wait about six months for another CT. My wife assisted the surgeon she worked for, at one time, with the procedure where they go down the throat and biopsy the mass in a pancreas. She says "no thank you that is not for me, I'll just wait for the CT."

So for now we will go on with our life as if this was a bad dream that lasted a few months. As I said it will be checked by CT again in about 6 months and after all when you are 78 years old, 6 months can be a life time. I'm sure about 5 months from now we will began to get anxious, but until then it is happy times for us.

Thank all of you for your prayers and best wishes.

Our best wishes to all of you.

Smitty

Relief!

Hi Smitty,

Great news! Dottie and you must be relieved along with the reprieve. How wonderful that it has not changed in 4 months. It is my understanding that CA of the pancreas increases in size rapidly, usually before one has symptoms. With all the advances in medicine today (i.e. cardiac devices for one) catching a cancer of any type early on is no longer a death notice. I'm so pleased for both of you with the outcome of the CT. I hope you can relax now as we approach the holidays and enjoy them with your family and friends. My prayers will certainly continue for you and your bride. God's grace is amazing, isn't it?

Smitty,
That is really exciting news. Now I may be lost and you may have told us but what is your wifes name? You are both always in my thoughts and prayers.

Hi Smitty.

Thank you for the update on Dottie. The two of you can stop worrying for a while, and get on with your plans.
You are lucky to have each other for support. It's so crucial at a time like this.
Take care of yourselves.

I guess congratulations isn't exactly the right word but wow that is really good news.

I have had the "go down the throat" to expand the duct to the pancreas and that was no fun. I can't imagine having abiopsy with that too. UGH. Happy to hear about the CT though.

Great news

Yes, thank you for letting us know the good news. I've known two people in my life with pancreatic cancer and it was VERY fast growing in both. Four months without a change is wonderful.

You'll both still be in my thoughts and prayers,
Suze
