I have had a pacemaker for 10 months. I have always had low blood pressure, but lately my bp has been higher? Can a pacemaker cause hypertension?

Pacemakers and hypertension

When I first received a pacemaker it was the Kappa 2000. This particular model regulated everything. For the greater part of 11 years, my blood pressure was always the same and so was my pulse. But unfortunately the replacement for that model does not do the same. So I would have to say that it depends on the model you have and then ultimately the settings your doctor set for you. Thats the best info I have on it.
I think that sticker would get your point across nicely!

In fact after the final "tweaks" of my pacemaker programming at the one year check up it is working so well that I forget I have it.
Hypertension

Not directly, but speeding the heart up could raise BP. The strange thing is some of us experience just the opposite, and have our BP go down.
I keep intending to make a bumper sticker that says:
"Hypertension is Better than No Blood Pressure at all".
