BEAT IT GRANTHAM...........

...........Hi to all..

Last night I attended a meeting of Beat It Grantham at Grantham Hospital. The event was hosted by Mr Andrew Houghton and the topic for the evening was Syncope and Arrhythmia.

About 24 people attended and we were presented with a highly informative talk on how there are so many reasons why people can 'faint' and how there is no simple way to connect 'fainting' with the need for a device of any sort.

We were given, in understandable terms, a run down of how cardiac specialists follow a schedule as recommended by N.I.C.E so as to establish how to identify and treat syncope tailored to the individual patient.

WE were given so much information that I cannot even begin to touch on any detailed content...sorry !

We also had an account by a patient of his long history of AF and his developing treatment over some 20 years.

There was then a Q&A session.

I can recommend that anybody within striking distance of Grantham puts the next meeting in their diaries...17th June 2015...all free...all welcome, especially partners and carers of syncope patients.

My best wishes to all

I may well be asked to give an account of my own cardiac history at a future meeting.

Sounds Good

It's good to hear about groups like this. I'll be keeping an eye out and fingers crossed for one a little more local in North West England - Grantham's a bit far for an evening out.

I wish

We had something like that in my area of the states! My docs like my particularly interesting history. Keep posting details as you remember them!

I have a well tuned pacer. I hardly know I have it. I am 76 year old, hike and camp alone in the desert. I have more energy than I have had in a long time. The only problem is my wife wants to have a knob installed so she can turn the pacer down.
