Magna Clean.......

.................now, doesn't this sound really exciting ??

NO..

Magna Clean is a device that I have had fitted to my central heating system. It has a bright yellow label warning ..Contains Powerful Magnet'.

I spoke with ADEY who make it, and they told me that this was to warn PM people................would not elaborate on this statement.

I have talked to DONr about this , and we agree that this is a standard 'let out / warning clause' A couple of days ago I opened up the device to remove Magnetite sludge from the core. Mrs TM was in attendance in case I exploded or croaked my last doing this manoevvre.

NOTHING .....

Now I am not saying that ADEY Magna Cleans are PM friendly,..just that I had no problem.

Don and I agree that the Six-Inch rule applies with magnets

Tattoo Man

Smitty.......the Six Inch rule must, surely provoke your, unique sense of humour ....?

Glad you've survived

but what exactly would Mrs TM have done if you had exploded or croaked ? She would not have been able to help, other than clean up the mess so why was she in attendance ? She may as well have gone to the pub !

Hope you both have a good Xmas, Tat Man and I hope you both enjoy the cleanest central heating system in the UK.

Cheers

Ian

....................Mrs TM is never, ever lacking planning and resources..

As I teetered on the ceiling joists, making every effort not to put my foot through the ceiling,..Mrs TM stood by,..in her 'supportive mode',..wearing a full length PVC coat and diving helmet,..with the next doors Doberman, two days starved, ..just in case there was any ..'Clearing Up' to be done

Sadly. Pooch was dissapionted....

The PVC coat, etc was, however a far greater challenge than any magnet...what with the proximity of that, so fragile plasterboard.

Tomorrow I plan to check my Magna Clean, wearing nothing more than a Santa hat and beard...

HO HO HO !!!

So next time

So next time you'll visit the pub first before attempting to clean the ADEY? As we say in the US, power machinery works better after a beer. Lubricates the joints and all that.

Thank you Tatoo Man

Good Job TM (& Mrs)

TM: Adey followed their tight-lipped approach to disclosing anything about magnet strength. As I suspected they would after reading all the stuff you directed me towards.

At least they confirmed what we both suspected.

Mrs Donr & I went to Disney World in Orlando, Florida last week. Great place to visit when you don't have a bunch of kids in tow.

We went to "Tomorrowland" & road on the "People Mover." I had wanted to do that ever since the last discussion about magnetic propulsion & Magnetic levitation. The trams are powered by linear electric AC synchronous motors - meaning some pretty powerful magnetic fields beneath them.

Just as we were approaching the ride, I warned Wife about what MIGHT happen - my PM gets flipped into TEST mode & I feel like crap warmed over & might do something wild like pass out. I assured her that I'd recover.

Got into the tram, sat down & settled in for a fun trip.

Had a ball - no effect whatsoever.

Confirmed my humble opinion that nothing would happen, but having put my money where my mouth is, I feel good about being correct.

Now - that all being said, I must admit that I did NOT lie down on the floor to place my PM as close to the motor fields as possible. Also interesting - there are no readily visible warning notices anywhere near the entry point for the ride.

Question for the masses who read this: Has anyone ridden the Magnetic Levitated train in China? If so, any effect on the PM/ICD?

Don

Thanks

Thankyou for a brilliant start to Xmas. l am about to go to work now & face the grumpy shoppers who have forgotten to order their "Bread & Mince Pies etc" & l have to smile oh so sweetly as they moan at me because they forgot !!!!
BUT l dont care......................because now l have the image of you clearing your heating system wearing next to nothing, WOW that image will help me endure the wrath of the general public, l am (almost) looking forward to work now knowing that l can think of you in a state of undress without feeling guilty about such indecent images because it will be helping me through the toughest day of the year, you are truly my hero (Yet again)
Merry Xmas Mr & Mrs Tatman, have the brilliant time you both deserve :-)

Hi glad I found this thread , iv got a pacemaker & having a magna clean boiler fitted tomorrow , did you stay problem free ? Thanks for any info ♥️

You know you're wired when...

You have a 25 year mortgage on your device.

I had a pacemaker when I was 11. I never once thought I wasn't a 'normal kid' nor was I ever treated differently because of it. I could do everything all my friends were doing; I just happened to have a battery attached to my heart to help it work.
