Is it me....Bro.....??

........or do I not get the current fashion for writing, so called ..'English'.. with French 'cedillas' over the 'As'.

The UK has always been a central melting pot for language / creativity / experimentation...lets face it ..Brits invented everything that makes life good.....Telly,..Electricity,..and the inflatable tyre ( Tire for the newcomers )

So..der,..the Cedilla ?

One finds oneself terribly left out of this,..ahem,..'New Speak'...

Might some person from the 'New Countries' shine a little light on this new,..and ,.so interesting development in our history of our language

Normally I immediately tune in to your thought processes and help develop any debate you care to start .... but I'm not sure I've come across cedilla-sodden abuse of the English language.

Give a few examples so that I know where you are coming from and I will be as outraged as you are

Cheers

Ian ( with a cedilla over the "a" please ! )

Tattoo "Dude" Man,

I think I need 24 hours to decipher what the .... your referring to.

I'm too busy glued to my "Telly" waiting for the newest arrival for Prince William and Princess Kate. I have a feeling it's going to be a girl.

I think you forgot to mention "James Bonds" also.

Hoping your summer over there is treating you dandy.

I'm loving it over here, great jogging weather.

Note to PNLXL, your point is well taken, but Pookie is from Canada and I noticed it appears on her text too!!!!

(Perhaps she is French Canadian)

So it remains a mystery to me also.

Tattoo Man, maybe this should be your homework assingment for today, I expect to have a full report on my desk by tomorrow.

As always,

....or may I call you Mary ??? It is kind of you to ask if we are keeping cool. No we're not !! We are having the hottest weather in the UK for 10 trillion years , my cedilla has melted , my Circumflex accent is looking quite grave and my PM bulge has become a gooey mess !

Please send help from your side of the pond...lots of ice-cream would do!

Ian

...................for 'cedilla'..please read Circumflex Accent.

Sister Mary Kate..Pooks is a good example but I have seen others here too but,...and apologies to my handsome twin-brother IAN MC,..I cannot be arsed to find any more , having had a sensational weekend running and watching Chris Froome on Mont Ventoux with the attendant celebrations......

PNLX,,etc..etc. I think you have a point re, what we, here in the underdeveloped world call 'Spellcheck' and I agree with you re Authors but still maintain that Brits invented everything that is wonderful in this world, including Aston-Martin cars , Marmite and Toe nail clippers.

To give the New World credit though, you score well with products from Dow Corning.......

Ian, I'd love to send ice cream your way, but it's hot as hell over here too!!!!

I like Kate better, that's what friends and family call me.

When I was a kid getting in trouble, I was always addressed as Mary Kate.

I was surprised to hear that the UK was experiencing a heat wave, hopefully your winter will be mild. :)

Don't feel bad I can't figure out how to make those marks over the letters on my machine either. Could it be my machine is too old or is it me??? Jean
