Six years ago ,some really clever people, headed by Mr Richard Firmin sawed my breast-bone down the middle,..dragged my chest apart and , having stopped my heart,..put in a shiny new Aortic Valve.
For them, this is daily work...
For me this was a journey into the abyss..
Six months after 7-3-7 ..I did my first Half Marathon..
Thank you Mr Firmin
Thank you Glenfield Leicester UK

TM, I'm glad that things worked out so well for you, and that you let nothing stop you. Hope this valve will continue to do a great job for many more years. Cheers!

That's an amazing achievement even if you hadn't had open heart surgery! Long may you continue to inspire. Motion is the lotion.

I love this new part of me, and very, very thankful that this technology exists and I know that it's all only going to get better over time.

On your journey...and first Half Marathon. I ran a half marathon many moons ago. I did it in 2:05. Slow by many standards, but a huge accomplishment for me at the time.
