Hi to all at Pacemaker Club !
me and Mrs Tattoo are totally blown away by the fabulous caring responses that have come our way I genuinely am touched deeply by the way that PMC has stood behind us.
So, the summary ,to date,.. is that my fabulous Surgeon Dr Alistair Sandilands has, after the infection has been sorted out, every intention to take the whole kit out ..box..leads..the whole lot..as in..Tattoo Man will run without any assistance. My bottom rate is now 50 from the previous 60. I will have a couple or three week to get some info for them to download in the new year.
It might sound silly but NOW I am getting anxious about the prospect of 'flying solo' again ..crazy really.
Those who know me well will not be surprised that on getting home at 4pm yesterday.....at 6.30 pm myself and Mrs T had the tuxedo and poshfrock on and were in a cab on our way to our running Club Dinner and Dance. Today is relatively lightweight with only a lunchtime drinks party nearby in 15 minutes time...
A HUGE thank you all for being so magnificent ...tell me ..if I no longer have a PM,..do I no longer qualify to be a member.will I have to tender my resignation ?? ( joke )
Fondly Tattoo Man
PS..thank you Sue.....IAN MC is now on a list (very near the top ) of people that I need to 'sort out' in the near future !...??

I am so glad to hear you're home and doing well! I'm actually jealous you won't be needing your PM any longer (still happy for you though!) And, if you don't feel well after a while, you know you can most likely go back to using one again in the future. What a deal! LOL!
Blessings, and best wishes for the future!!!!! We all hope you still stay in the PMC!
Woo Hoo!!

So pleased you are home and brilliant news about your PM. Must admit l am a bit envious but at the same time can understand your insecurity about it not being there anymore but if you don't need it whats the point?
Any chance of a pic' of you going out in your posh frock
bet you looked stunning !!!!!!

"Flying Solo"

Hi TM, Glad to hear you're home & also very interested in the "Big Dream" of maybe no more PM. As about 4 years ago when my 3rd PM eroded & was removed, I was riding on "Cloud 9" when I was doing great without my PM. Actually some of the above "terms" are quite personal as I'm a pilot & being able to again fly solo was a BIG dream. As you probably know the FAA won't recognize that a pacemaker is really airworthy.
My experience without my PM was really great especially after beig told by top University EP that I might be 1 of the rare patients to have healing of my electrical problem & may not need another PM. Well, after reading postings of other members & doing great myself without my PM for 60 days, my electrical conduction went back to 2nd degree block.
Now with my 5th PM & healing up good I find my heart's solid memory of HR 60 just doesn't like my new PM setting of 50. So tomorrow with my appointment with my Dr. I will again want my low setting back to 60. Hey, just a thought, maybe working 60 years with tons of Electronics all powered by 60 hertz, is why I just love 60, except Hr is 60/min and AC in US is 60/sec. Maybe I need to reside in UK to be on 50 hertz??
TAT, I really hope you can be the 1 patient to be able to ditch your PM permanently. Ya, and I can still fly with my PM as long as I have another pilot-in-command with me.
GOOD LUCK !!
DonB

Your anxiety is normal. It takes some of us a little time to adjust to the new friend. As much as they love you, family and friends without a device just cannot understand the adjustment we go through. That is why this site is so valuable.
