Never mind TM, I just googled it again and realized it was some kind of TV show.

I guess I'm not as hip as I used to be.

OK Tattoo Man.... what the ?@#%& are the Black Cubes. (Muscial Band)

I consider myself a groovy cat, but you've got me scratching my head on this one.

If I may paraphrase a comment you once said, "I'm all for far out thinking" but this one has me mystified here across the pond.

Casper

You're not alone Casper

I'm the same side of the pond as Tattoo Man and I am mystified !

He will be OK in the morning, I think he's been on the waccie baccie, come on TM explain please!!!

My dear friends....

by Tattoo Man - 2012-09-23 07:09:10

...my Wakky Bakky days are well behind me. I find looking for crazy stuff much easier to find most days just by reading the News.

To the uninitiated,.. "Doctor Who" is a long standing kind of Sci-fi TV programme that has been on and off the telly since 1963. The term Cult Status is not an exaggeration,..witness the fact that last nights show had guest actors in the shape of Alan Sugar and Professor Brian Cox.

Here in the UK "Doctor Who" captured 25% of the total market share,..second only to some crap 'talent show'.

I understand that the programme has been translated into many foreign languages...including American,..so there is no excuse not to understand it.

May you own Little Computer Friend be kind to you..

Best wishes to all,..and Kate, yes its good to see IAN MC PUZZLED back on the pitch . He tells me that he has been "resting".....

Tattoo Man

...for the explanation; at least you have made Sue happy
beyond her wildest dreams !

Kate ( why do you call yourself "Casper " I wonder ? ) as T Man says I have been "resting" for 3 glorious weeks in the South of France and discovered that the French are far better at making wine than they are at providing reliable internet connections ..hence my disappearance from the virtual world !

Tick-Tock ..I hope that you are now clearer than I am about those black cubes.

Cheers

Ian

Another anagram

by IAN MC - 2012-09-23 11:09:27

Casper is an anagram of " Pacers".

Do I win £10 ?

Ian

I thought all of this went very well...

by Tattoo Man - 2012-09-23 11:09:43

OK ,..now that you are all up to speed on this topic ,it might be salutory to understand that some of my Postings may not always be of a 'Linear' nature.

'Ping-Pong' conversations are all very well in the appropriate context, but tend towards the informative rather than the creative.

My, 40 - odd years earning a living as a designer has taught me that many of the best ideas / solutions are born of 'Blue Sky Thinking' allied to solid factual knowledge and evidence. so...lets get back to the first question.......

"What are these little black cubes all about...and are they made by St Judes, Medtronic or Sorin ??

I have £10 on the table that this challenge may invite some interesting responses,..furthermore I have a PMC candidate in mind.

Kate..lets have some " Far out thinking" from you..

A clue could read.."Anagram of NOD "

You are all fantastic...lets keep it that way !

To Ian and Tattoo Man

by Casper - 2012-09-23 12:09:36

Good Day Fellas,

I use the name Casper after a cartoon I used to watch on TV growing up. It was based on a friendly ghost, it was hard for him to make friends, because people were afraid of him.

As for you Tattoo Man, I would never be able to match your quick Brit wit, when it comes to "far out" thinking.

Try I must, so please be patient with me.

Casper (Kate)

Wow !

by sue uk - 2012-09-24 06:09:14

l get the Newark thingy too !!!
Do you think my pm has increased my brain function? & do you really live there?
Sue X

Thanks Tattoo Man

by IAN MC - 2012-09-26 01:09:31

Very generous ! You're the salt of the earth .... all heart !

.... and did you know that "earth" is an anagram of "heart "

by the way, I thought about the anagram of Newark so much that it is making me go blind !

Cheers and thanks

Ian

IAN, Good Sir you are just too kind

by Tattoo Man - 2012-09-26 04:09:59

To be given the title (undeserved) of "Salt of the Earth" is such an accolade. The etymyological source of this praise does not pass me by....

Saint Matthew on the Sermon on the Mount.."Ye are the salt of the Earth......

Them Romans paid the Troops with salt..Salarium...Salary...Salt

Latin "Cum Grano Salis"...with a grain of salt..

Morocco / Fez..a salt mining town where salt miners were seen as essential workers

IAN....you have been busy on this thread............the Newark bit has clearly left you a little ...enervated...might it be that your exertions ( and a Chap needs a hobby )..have left you,.. as your avatar suggests..a little ...

Kiddo, try this :

TATTOOMAN>>>>>>>MANTA TOOT

TOOT is Australian slang for a lavatory

MANTA is rough cotton cloth from Spain

So..

TOOT MANTA is a Lavatory Cloth

Or you could have MANTA TOOT which is the noise that a certain big fish makes.

I'm going for a lie-down

IAN...shall we call it a day on this load of Old Toot ??

TOOT is also UK Traveller speak for Rubbish or Scrap

TM

PS ..thanks for the Tenner ( Oooh look !! Rennet !..the membrane lining the stomach of a young calf ! )
