what is smaller?

I have a Medtronic Advisa MRI Sure Scan pacemaker (gen 2) and it is not big in my book.
it is 1.77 inches tall, 2.01 inches wide and only 0.31 thick. It needs room for electronics and battery. A third of the height is for the leads to be plugged in, so in my mind, it is pretty small.

But the battery life on it is laughable. Not many guys will use it, unless your 94lbs and have only a few years left.

Tiny pacemaker

Earlier this week it was announced that a tiny pacemaker that is placed inside the heart was approved for use in Europe. It does not require leads and is about the size of an AAA or AA battery. It will likely be several years before the device is approved in the U.S., the report said.

There is a leadless

STJ owns it right now, there are some pretty stringent qualifications right now for the clinical trials and is only a single chamber pacemaker, but it's Version 1.0. They put it in through the leg, no more scar on your chest.

Leadless Pacemaker?

Are you talking about the little leadless one? They're pretty cool but just now being tested in humans, and those of us with traditional leads don't qualify yet. If you search here or any of the medical sites you should be able to find articles on it.
