I've been stuck there for days....even when logged off. Can somebody let me out? Helloooo.....knock knock. Open the door.... or the window. :-)

Reassuring !

by IAN MC - 2016-02-26 11:02:28

Some things in life never change and I find this reassuring in an ever-changing world :-

- It always rains in the UK

- My PM carries on pacing day after day

- Dogs bite me whenever I go out running

- And, last but not least, Grateful Heart is always in the
" Who's Online " box.

I would feel very insecure if any of these should ever change.

Enjoy the company in there, GH, you're not alone !

Ian

Pssst.....Ian

Wait.....you didn't open the door!

Yes, I've met some very nice members stuck in the "Online box". There's 5 of us stuck in here, most are newbies. We're gonna play a card game in a little while.

Could you send some food and drink in here.....we're getting hungry.

And we're getting bored......can you tell??

Grateful Heart

Jeez! Some people.....

by donr - 2016-02-27 06:02:53

.....have all the luck! I have no trouble getting out. look at it this way - at least you don't have to keep logging in!!!!!

How 'bout a hot pastrami sammich next time I drop in.

BTW: where do they keep you locked up? Or are you curled up in a fetal position sucking your thumb in a dark corner? I come in at least twice a day & I've never seen you!

While you are trapped there, how about a Pvt Msg or two?

Don

Oh Politics?

by Grateful Heart - 2016-02-27 07:02:51

I have no idea who I will be voting for yet.

I feel like I am watching a sitting in the UK Parliament with all the insults and bad jokes being lobbed back and forth.

A sunny day on this side of the pond. How's the weather on your side?

Grateful Heart

Pssst .. Grateful Heart

by IAN MC - 2016-02-27 08:02:10

I will open the door if you promise not to vote for Donald Trump

Ian

Sorry to bring up the subject !

by IAN MC - 2016-02-27 08:02:21

You're probably hiding in there to escape the never-ending
election run up.

Weather cold here, thanks,

Ian

Good Idea

by Grateful Heart - 2016-02-27 08:02:27

I should stay there until November. You may be on to something. It's going to be a loooong year. LOL

There's plenty of room in here....only 5 of us right now. I like what you did with the place. But... you forgot to stock the bar before you left. I'm gonna need it when Ian shows up.

So Ian, when it's your turn to be sentenced.....don't come in empty handed.....especially if we are going to talk politics. My glass was half full but now it's getting half empty.

Don, yes..we're running low on food too.

TM, I used to love to run in the sand and on the boardwalk in Staten Island, NY many years ago when I was a runner. I have bad arthritic hips now but really enjoyed it.

Hi GH !!..........

..........a while back I was stuck in the in-box for ages....I had just got the place to my liking..new curtains and stuff , when Blake asked for back-rent so I had to leave...shame as I had quite settled in..

GH....when you leave, make sure its tidy in there for the next incumbent...it is possibly IAN MCs turn next..

I am currently in a fabulous house with a view of Bamburgh Castle where I did a 10k race yesterday on SAND !!

What makes you think that GH will leave when I move in ? She is probably serving a life sentence !

Anyway we will be quite happy in there comparing pacemaker scars while you are outside running up and down in the sand.

Cheers

Ian

Some People ,.Eh ???........

by Tattoo Man - 2016-02-29 07:02:55

....GH...Honest Injun...I left the In-Box fully restocked before I did a runner from Admin, over the back-rent..

As I recall..a case of JD..two cases of Chateauneuf du Pape....AND....at least four bottles of Cristal were in the wine cellar...

SO...

Lets look at the evidence....I owed Blake back-rent for my time residing in the In-Box....so..who nicked the grog...??...

I rest my case..

...or rather..I rested my cases and now they are in Blakes Duplex...

...as I said.."Some People"...

Staten, Island, you say....

by donr - 2016-03-01 02:03:03

...so you are a New Yawkah. Would you like for me to stop in a Deli somewhere in NYC & stock on on the delights you prefer before my next trip through?

I doubt if you would like what I can get here in the deep south - canned rattlesnake, fried alligator tails, black-eyed peas, collard greens, okra, cornbread,

OR...maybe I can root around in my old duffelbag & find some leftover cans of C-Rats from Viet Nam. I'm sure I have some of the real delicacies - pork sausage patties, hamburger patties, ham & lima beans. Forget the pound cake & fruit cake - I ate that the day I got it.

If you need one, I can go to mypillow.com & get a special deal on a couplea pillows for you. Nothing is too good for a fellow traveler trapped in the On-Line Box! Need any curtains? We have some left over from a Victorian barn we lived in that had an acre of windows.

Don

Forget the..,.

by donr - 2016-03-03 02:03:07

...Cristal.

The best I can do here is Moonshine from the back woods of Nawth Jawja!. It's guaranteed to be less than 30 days Old, stored in an authentic Mason Jar & will strip the paint off of a concrete wall.

Warning note: Probably condensed out in an old truck radiator, so its residual lead content is unknown. Not safe for consumption by young children. Are there any hiding in the little crooks & nannies of the Slammer where Blake is holding you?

Next time through I'll stop off at Wal-Mart & pick up a stack of salads. they store well. Also go well w/ the Moonshine!

How does some really fresh road-kill 'possum & ring-tailed 'coon sound? If I get out early enough, I can beat my neighbors to the really good ones. That may be a bit dangerous, however - last time I went after a big 'un there was some gunfire exchanged (you know what it's like here in the south w/ all of us carrying). Good thing I have that 24 acres of prime pine forest & a D-handled shovel to get rid of the loser. Next time through I'll show you the neat .367 Magnum S & W stainless revolver I got to go along w. the big 'un.

I'll talk to Blake about springin' you from da joint. you've served your time.

Don

Ummm

by Grateful Heart - 2016-03-03 03:03:13

No Don, that's ok. I don't want to take any of your delicacies. I just couldn't......really. But a salad would be great.

And if you could bring four bottles of Cristal to replace the ones that Tatman bartered......that would be perfect!

Visiting Hours

by Grateful Heart - 2016-03-03 04:03:12

24/7 but beware! Once you get in here you may not get out.

Moonshine? Does it take away hip pain? If so bring plenty, just don't light a match.

BTW, this thread will self-destruct....sort of....in a couple of days when it drops off the main page. Probably a good thing no?

.......last year there was an incredible jewel heist in Londons Hatton Garden quarter.....some really old felons planned a fantastic hit on Safe Deposit Boxes and used some awesome drilling kit to get into the underground safe...

Just give me 'The Nod' ..and I will speed - dial a few blokes that I know down the pub...

Bill The Drill can get some good kit...

Big Dave can do heavy lifting..

'TOD'......just don't ask....he is just good at 'clearing -up'...

GH..you have your best support group to 'spring' you from your Cardiac Incarceration....

Just press 'GO' and I can galvanise the Underworld to get you out of your Inbox Prison...

You are now showing all the signs of being "institutionalised " . This is a very common phenomenon with prisoners who have served long sentences .

You will probably be reluctant to rejoin a world outside that you will no longer understand ( I don't remember did we have electricity when you went in ? )

You know you can't make a run for it, not with your hip !

So make the most of your salads washed down with Cristal and accept that deep down you are happy in there !

What time are visiting hours please ?

IAN: Both US Political parties...

by donr - 2016-03-04 02:03:34

...did it to themselves!!!!!

Once upon a time, they were different, w/different political philosophies. As the years rolled on they became more alike - till today, where they pretty much are similar, except for their campaigning. Literally a half-lifetime ago, I took a course on "Politics in Asia," where the instructor concluded that the mess in the Philippines during Marcos' day was brought on by just that phenomonen & that the US was headed that way. Interesting thesis, I thought, but it seems to be headed that way.

What I see right now is a pair of parties - far left & smeared from moderate to far right doing battle during a campaign.

The last time I saw that was in Russia 1917 - 18, when the feckless, disorganized, undisciplined Mensheviks of Kerensky faced the highly organized, highly disciplined, doctrinaire Bolsheviks under Lenin. We both know how that turned out!

The discipline w/in our Democrat party rivals that f Lenin's bunch. The internal squabbling of our Republicans makes the Mensheviks look like a girl's tea party - & just as impotent!

I'll rent a room w/in the On-Line Box, w/ adjoining sitting room & the three of us can play a game of Three-Handed Whist (If that's possible) & discuss politics. Maybe there will be a Canuck who would care to join us?

Rules of the game - all politics must be discussed in a civil manner. All guns, knives, blunt instruments, etc will be left at home. Maybe Tatt Man would like to come & moderate? He may bring a garrot in case anyone gets severely out of line. He may use my 24 acres & D handled shovel to get rid of the bodies in case he must discipline anyone.

Cheers!

Don

Today while working on the last...

by donr - 2016-03-04 02:03:59

...wall I though of another southern delicacy.

You are aware of Chokeberries - they grow on large-leafed , dark green plants w/ red-maroon stalks that are quite fragile. the berries are poisonous, but the leaves apparently are edible. Those things sprout up early in the spring & grow faster than weeds (of course they do - they ARE weeds!).

My neighbors claim to eat them as a salad. I'll pass on them, thank you - but I have them by the droves & will gladly sacrifice some for your salad-craving wellbeing. Just give me the word!

Just so you will know what is happening here in the great outside, Rubio & Cruz are attacking Trump on the 10,000th debate of the campaign. It will be bliss when those debacles are over. Today, Romney did his share - & he isn't even RUNNING!

If this is a forerunner of the general election in the fall, I'll sneak in to give you company. That will be brutal.

I'm Out!!

by Grateful Heart - 2016-03-04 04:03:13

Just in time!

There's plenty of room in there and they have Wi-Fi so I've been keeping up on the politics.

I left fresh cut flowers on the dining room table so take care of them guys.

Also, leave the door ajar....if the politics get much worse I may decide to slip back in.

Thanks for the fun guys. I see I'm not the only one bored.

I thought at first that Trump was just a joke, an amusing sideshow; but now he seems to be a serious contender.

I think of Trump's finger on the nuclear button and it puts all of our little PM problems into perspective !

Is there room for one more in there GH ?
