Life is precious and can be cut short at any time, any age. We all know this, but sometimes we need a stark reminder. Healthy people, no Pacemakers, no ICD's, no health issues to worry about, just living life.... can be cut short at any time.
One of my sons' friends was crossing the road in the darkness of the early morning, on his way to work was struck and killed by a car. He was 23 years old. He leaves behind a young wife and 2 small babies. It was a terrible, tragic accident.
So when you want to give up, when you feel that desperation, please, please..... think about how lucky we are to have these wonderful devices and medical professionals in our lives keeping us alive. Sometimes a few adjustments are needed. Sometimes an attitude adjustment is needed.
Is the glass half empty or half full? I am still here....so I like to think of the glass as half full or maybe plentiful.
Reach out here whenever you need. Talk, complain or vent here whenever you need. But then, dig down deep to help yourself while others help you too.
You are worth it and life is too precious.

What a dreadful thing to happen. I know what you mean; I am so thankful for my pm and my cardio/EP who got to the bottom of things and actually saved my life. That is another story. Now my 34 year old son in law has cancer, melanoma, and is going for his 3rd surgery next week. It makes any of my problems melt into nothing. My daughter is looking to work full time, but has 3 small children, and child care costs are high. She lives 800ks away, so I can't be of much help. (500miles)
Yes we all need a reminder, but some people need help to cope and that is ok too, that is why this site is so good.

I have had my pacer since 2005. At first it ruled my life. It took some time to calm down and make the mental adjustment. I had trouble sleeping and I worried a lot about pulling wires. Now I just live my life as I wish.
