Having a Cold and "Procedures"

I'm scheduled for a colonoscopy this week. I have been really sick the past 5 days: sore throat with raspy voice, lots of sinus congestion and very hard coughing with headaches. No fever or body aches so it's not the flu.
The Gastro Nurse called for scheduling and I told her (she could hear) about the cold to be sure they wanted me to show up like this. She said as long as I don't have a fever they will go ahead with it. It's a very busy office so I know they are not hurting for patients and he is pretty booked that day.
So does this sound right? I would think they wouldn't want me to spread germs around. Also, what if I cough during this...not looking for my colon to be perforated.
I sure hope my cold clears up fast. I've been taking Nyquil at night because the coughing won't stop. Not sure what else I can take.
I haven't been sick in a while. Something tells me my name should have been Murphy. :)
Any thoughts?

When...

..next week? there's a big difference between Monday & Friday. In that period you will know what your prognosis is.
I understand about the perforation business.
Just don't go in with a belt of some anti-tussive in you - it might NOT be compatible w/ your Propofol.
Hang in there.

It may be the first time we've felt a normal heart rhythm in a long time, so of course it seems too fast and too strong.
It will al be ok in the end :)

The conscious sedation should suppress the urge to cough. I think its propofol (sp ?). Anyway it definitely knocks you on your butt, so to speak. Enough bad puns. Sorry. :)
