Scar Eruption

Well, my scar erupted again last night. It started to calm down after a few hours but then it flared right up again. It never did that before. It’s been happening for 2 years now, averaging 5 times a month. It started after a lead revision 2 years ago. It gets very itchy, looks like it blisters up but no noticeable fluid and a very tight feeling around the scar and device. This time it lasted over 6 hours…the longest time so far.

My husband wanted me to go to the ER this time but nobody knows what it is anyway and besides, working hard to stay out of the hospital.

Newbies: This is not typical so have no fear.

It’s been a long while since I posted about this so just checking if anyone has experienced anything like this, if you found out what it was and hopefully, how did you resolve it?

So sorry you are having to deal with this. Sometimes our bodies attacks foreign bodies and attacks! I can't help but wonder if this is happening to you? Of course I could just be way out in left field as they say...

Have you tried Vitamin E oil?

my Total Knee Replacements scars got red & painful after the 1st year. Went to my Dermatology PA & he recommended the oil. So I put it on every night (knees & PM scar) & no problems since. I get it in the vitamin or cosmetic aisle. Might help.

Janet

sorry that it won't help you

as I have had such a good reaction when I use it. But you are probably correct it is more than a simple surface thing as mine is, I think.

But my cats are not interested in Vitamin E oil. Now let's not talk about tuna & the fluid it comes in. Wow, what a reaction that gets from everybody even the dog.

Hope you get an answer soon, sounds miserable.

Regards, Janet

I haven't put anything on it

I didn't want to mess with it. At this point, maybe I will try Vitamin E. I don't have any cats so that shouldn't be a problem. :)

Hoping it's not a rejection since I am 100% dependent. My skin hasn't changed, in fact when it is calm you would have no idea that occurs. No fever so I believe no infection??

HH: If I find anything out I will let you know but not expecting to at this point. Maybe when it is time for a battery change but I'm not rushing that...lol.

Thanks all,
