Hi Everyone,
Not been on line for awhile, although always read whats going on and learn lots from you guys! I had SSS and A-fib and because of heart drugs ended up with Pacemaker in Oct 2011. Everything has been going great except a few weeks ago my BP has been getting quite low 90/58 88/57 etc, my pacer keeps pulse at 60 so thats not a problem, it just my energy is really taking a hit, very had to make myself exercise. I talked to the Dr. yesterday and he dosn't want to change anything as my heart is doing well, should I just get used to feeling this way or are there other options? Any input would be helpful,
Thanks

My opinion...

I'd seek a 2nd opinion from another Cardiologist - if possible and/or I'd find an EP like Roys said above.
I had a few issues when I first received my pacemaker too and when I finally got into see an EP, well everything changed - for the better.
Take care,
Pookie
And NO, don't accept "just get used to it" as there is an answer out there, you just have to find a doctor who is willing to listen and help you.

question to you...

I am new...70/55 bp the other day...pulse goes into mid 40's and it usually in mid 50's...sometimes higher. I go for a heart monitor next week. I was told PM is next. Sounds like the PM doesn't do a thing for the low pb....right?
Your question

Hi
You should have put this question under Post message. Do you take medication? There is not enough info to give an opinion, you need the result of the heart monitor test.

Thanks Pookie and Roy, My doctor has ordered blood work to make sure nothing else is causing this, I'm afraid that I havent learned that things take time! also at 65 I will not feel like 40 everyday! For the most part my life has been great since my PM. Will let you know in the next few months what the outcome is. It's so great to have people to turn to on the days you just want to talk. To Yogacat, its really early days for you to assume anything, I had two failed ablations and a cardioversion before it was decided that the best route, drugs and then the PM because of very low HR. After the heart monitor you will probably have more tests and you just have to let things progress one step at a time. Hope things work out well for you, will watch for updates.

At age 20, I will be getting a pacemaker in few weeks along with an SA node ablation. This opportunity may change a five year prognosis into a normal life span! I look forward to being a little old lady with a wicked cane!

I had the same problem with my cardiologiist, And I change to a Electrophysiologist. It was the only way for me. You don't give much info on yourself. Get another opinion.
