A ROOT !

Can it be a Spud ?..perhaps a ..Carrot ?..surely not a Turnip ?

Try the noble Leek, sautéed with onion ,..in the dish and top off with egg and cheese + seasoning , with a Parmesan top off.... Voila.. lovely with Toms.

IAN always good for a recipe......

Great comfort food for a windy evening in the UK.!

Don't start without me, I will be round with a 1990 Cote de Beaune....best not to mix grapes.....who says alcohol. Is the root of all evil ?

................the venison bouguinone went very well,..the pan fried topping off of smoked bacon lardons, mush, \ ans shallots + parsley , was spot on. The venison, done in Port....spot-on

You can do this with any meat..the trick is always.....Low Heat ..Long Slow cook.

TM..some kind of PM = Trick cook..
