I have posted several times and each time I had some helpful advice and comments from other members. Thank you. I now have a question to direct and hope I receive some good answers again. For the last 19 months since my heart attark and ICD implant my BP has been 117/81 and heart rate at 58-60. My doctor has taken me off of Metoprolol and put me on Lisinopril (Zestril), and Carvedilol (Coreg). Now my BP is running around 148/74 and heart rate is 72-78. I am having panic attacks over this. Any suggestions? Is this normal with med change? What is everyone else's BP and heart rate? Many Thanks for your forth coming answers.

meds & BP

It has been my experence that when my BP meds are changed my BP changes. Usually when meds are changed it was because the bp was creeping up again. After the change it will flux for a while before stabilizing, settle where hopefully we hope is a good place. Also anytime I have a panic attach it plays havoc with my bp., for me it is best if I sit down breath deep and try to figure out whats bothering me, then do something about it. Most of the time its my mind running away from my brain so I take the dog for a walk, good for the dog and me both. Best advice I ever got was from an old uncle " Keep yourself working at something , keep your mind on your work, and you'll stay out of trouble," Good Luck Jean ps That was 55 years ago and I managed to get in my share of trouble.
medications

Hi! I hesitate to make comments on medications because our bodies respond/react so differently. However, I do remember some years ago, when a doctor prescribed Zestril, my blood pressure did not respond positively to it. I experienced a rather on edge feeling, not at all like me and did not realize it was medication related until we changed my medication. What a relief! Just be sure to keep your doctor informed of what is going on with you. Also, please make sure he/she is aware of any and all other medications you take, even over the counter ones, as some can send bp up. Take care, and I hope you get an answer and relief soon. Hopeful Heart

Thanks for your comment Hurtheart. My meds were changed 4 days ago, and that's when my readings all changed. I got my diet down well after nearly 2 years after having my issue.
