I tried to post this yesterday, but it didn't seem to make it.
I wondered about the metal detectors like you find treasures with.... right. I know they say to beware of the metal detectors like at the airports. While camping last weekend, my grandson had ours (the treasure hunting kind that is, lol) & was pretending to search every one for weapons, running it up
and down their bodies.
When he got to me, I stopped him & said I didn't think it would be a good idea. Would I need to be leary of 'playing' with my detector now? Using it along the ground?
Thanks in advance, I appreciate each of you!

I would avoid running the sensing coils over the pacemaker or your chest. The metal detector does emit a fairly strong signal to be able to penetrate the ground, and would easily subject the pacer and leads to more than I would like.

we flew to calgary alberta for our thanksgiivng in october. i was chatting with my husband as we were going thru security and completely forgot and walked thru the detectors. nothing went off but i then told the lady working on my line i had a pacemaker. she did a body search and then we went and sat down. i am 90% dependant so got a bit panicky but it soon passed and i seemed okay after checking my pulse a thousand times. lol jessie

Rule of thumb for anything questionable is to keep it 6" from our device. In this case, I suspect it would just beep that it found some metal had he run it over you, worst case it would put you in test mode for a few seconds until you got away from it. I don't think you'd have any trouble using it.
