I have a date for my replacement pm, it is 9th April, I will have an overnight stay in hospital, they are also going to review my leads while I am there, I know one lead is using extra power to work and I am being checked every 6 months. I am anxious as I didn't have a good experience last time, also it is the first time since my husband died that I have been in hospital, it is very hard adjusting to losing that one special person in your life, who was there to look after me as well. I have forgotten how long is it before I can drive after procedure. I am lucky I have family close by and a lovely cousin who is going to look after my crazy 4 month old puppy Meg. She has been my life saver but is a very busy little girl, keeping me fit. Hope you are all have a wonderful and blessed Easter.

Hang in there, Friend. I'm sorry you need to do this without your husband. Thank goodness for family and your dog, Meg! Be sure to use a pinch collar on her or use your right arm when you walk her. Puppies love to pull (and so does my big dog!) and you don't want to pull anything loose.
As far as driving, I was able to drive within 2 weeks if I remember correctly. Driving is freedom for me and I dread the day I am not allowed to do it anymore! Ask you doctor to be sure but you'll probably be road worthy fairly soon.
And thanks for the Easter wishes! I return them to you as well. Luke 24:6-7

If you need a new lead, it's common to keep you overnight but if it's just a battery, you shouldn't have to stay.
I had a lead using extra power also. It got the job done so I chose not to replace it right away. I figured getting the next battery a little sooner was less hassle than replacing the lead. The next time around, the lead was worse, it was sucking power like crazy so we replaced it. Also no big deal, healing is a lot easier than the first time.
Unless you've been passing out, there shouldn't be any restrictions on driving this time.
It's good to have the support of your family! Puppies are great therapy, too, yay for Meg. I know it's not your husband but it sounds like you have a lot of love surrounding you.
Thank you so much

for your kind words, it is comforting to know that there are people that I have never met that care about me. I have always been grateful to this group of people that have been there to support and encourage me and others that are lucky enough to have their lives improved by having a pm. I'll let you know how I get on next week.
Cheers Jane

My Prayers, Dog Person

Jane,
My condolences on the loss of your husband. My two big dogs help me every day. They know when I am having a good day or a bad day. Fortunately, I have been having more good days. My prayer goes out for you to have a successful replacement so you can get back to your puppy. Make sure your doctor tells you everything you need to know, and do not take generalities. I bug my doctors to no end. It's actually kind of fun!
Good Luck and Good Life, PJ
