Ok all I can say is Im stupid. Had a fall on Sunday helping hubby clean out the gutters on the house, was getting down from the ladder just before a major storm, hubby was on the roof, so could not catch me. I missed the last rail on the ladder and came down with a thud, sore and bruised all down my left side. I felt myself going and twisted so I would not land on my right so my buddy is fine, me on the other hand , Im blue and sore. All I can say is the darn gutters can stay blocked till later.
other wise alls well, Cindy

Falls

So far I have fallen twice. Once I slipped on a rock in the desert and landed with my large camera between the pacer and the ground. No damage to pacer, leads, or me (except for my dignity LOL)
The second was in a dark campground at night and I tripped over one of those concrete blocks they put to stop cars from going into the dirt. I really took a splat. Again no pacer damage.
For some reason even in my 80's seem to bounce.

I just want to share about the quality of life after my pacemaker, and hopefully increase awareness that lifestyles do not have to be drastically modified just because we are pacemaker recipients.
You are lucky...

...you don't have my 2 daughters!!!!!
Cindy: They would agree w/ you in spades! They'd be all over you like sand in the outback! I get it all the time from them. They have even infected my Wife!
Me - I'd just say you exercised poor judgement & weren't careful.
1) Not careful because you missed the last step on the ladder when in a hurry. BTDT. Last December while supervising my #1 Son & 2 Grandsons doing some work on our house while working from some scaffolding. I know the sudden stop you made! Jammed my right knee & damaged some cartilage in it. Still hurts a year later. Normally, I'd say that you gotta do what you gotta do, so going up a ladder, if you are comfortable doing it, is w/i the realm of being rational. See my next paragraph for more on ladders.
2) Poor Judgement because your comment in the next thread you say that you have limited arm movement in your PM side arm. Normally facile arms & hands are an absolute necessity when mounting ladders. That is a point where I join the choir my Daughters & Wife have created.
Last, I commiserate w/you, having BTDT in other, rational ways. Those kinds of bruises are the pits. I had one once that started on my right buttocks & eventually the blood gravitated all the way down to my foot, even though the only injury was to my sitter!
I wish you a speedy recovery & am glad that you were able to protect your little buddy!
