vtach need icd have pacer

Hi; its been almost 2 years since I had my pacer placed for junctional bradycardia and heart block. Today I was driving to work and felt like I was about to pass out. Long story short I Had 6 secs of v tachy and now am going to start sotilol medication tonight. I also had an echo that was normal and since I have the new pacer that allows mri I will get a cardiac mri tomorrow. Then I may need an ablation and they said I will need a pacer and ice placed and the 2 year old one will be taken out. I will cont the new med as well. I'm 28 and was trying to get pregnant. That will have to wait now. I'm very upset and nervous. Any advice or suggestions?

Hugs and prayers for you, you have every right to be upset and nervous. Getting the icd is an emergency back up plan, hopefully the sotolol will do its job so you will never need the icd and you can get back to your plans to get pregnant.

Any chance you were dehydrated or had had too much caffeine or anything like that? It's common to get an icd for v-tach but one short episode only, you might want to get a second opinion first.

p.s. I had 2 babies with a pm for av block, no problems at all.

You know you're wired when...

You can finally prove that you have a heart.
