4 years on...

Hopefully everyone is doing well, it's been some time since I ducked my head in and it's great to see some of the familiar people who are the stalwarts of this wonderful site - not to mention all the newbies who have joined. It's literally getting to the stage where I totally forget I have the ICD (obstructive cardiomyopathy - near death experience got me inducted into this wonderful club!) the first couple of years were tough with the device firing off (character building!) getting the correct settings, crawling before i could walk (metaphorically speaking!)but thankfully everything has settled down. I am back to full training, cycling, running - so for those who may feel worried about the future and what it may hold remember this, we have all been given a second chance, either historically or procedure pending. It won't and it isn't always easy but listen to your body and of course the doctors advice - that said, remember you can always challenge what the doc's say :-)

Great to hear that you're alive and well and back into full training . Couldn't agree more with your last sentence re challenging the Dr's advice occasionally.

Cheers
