G'day.,
Just asking if any other woman who has a pacemaker has had a mammogram and had a phone call and letter to say "have to go back for more assessment"?
I am worried of course but I have no lump I can feel at all and wonder is it because all other Mommograms have been done before I had a pacer so have others found it is the pacer showing a change in the breasts at all?
I would be so grateful for any feedback if anyone would be kind enough to give me any info. as husband and I just a tad worried right now and have to wait until Tuesday for a 3-4 hour assessment. :( :(: Having been on Hormone Replacement for er 26 years does not help but up to now never worried about it as quality of life is important also.
Thanks folks
Phyl.

The first mammography had after my implant, I got called back because they could not see behind my ICD. They wanted to get a better view. All was ok. Now, they know to take a couple of different angle shots behind the device, trying not to squeeze too much. I can't say about the HRT.
It is probably something similar in your case. I think our devices just don't want to be left out or forgotten so they find a way of reminding us they are there...LOL.
It will probably be fine, try not to stress...easier said then done I know.
Good Luck,

Thank you Alma Annie. I have had all the other Mammograms while taking HRT so a bit worried because the lady on the phone said "there has been a change on the x-ray since your last one"
That is why I felt maybe the PM is showing on the x-ray maybe. :) I have the appointment for 9.30 a.m. Tuesday so just have to wait it out and in reality "it is what it is"
Thanks again.

Thank you Grateful Heart. I feel that may be the case with me also as I have no sign (to my calculations anyway) any lump at all.
..
Thanks again for your reply. Makes me feel better.

mammagram

Hi Phyl
I don't think it is relevant that you do or do not have a pm. Sometimes on hormone treatment the breast can show some dense tissue. Anyway go back for your assessment as soon as you can. If there is anything that needs attention, then the sooner the better, that is why you have a mammogram in the first place, to eliminate things or if necessary to treat anything as early as possible.
Hope all goes well for you. Let us know how you go.
