Good Morning everyone

Just checking in. Been in the hospital the last 5 days. Yep, another infection. Took 8 blood cultures to find it. That's my luck. LOL Anyway, no more fever. Yay! I done told the doctors that I plan on going home by Tuesday. Of course, they are not to happy and know I will just walk out. So, they been winging me off the Dobutamine with one more day to go for that. If no bug shows itself in todays blood, they will put a new picc line in for me so I can go home. I will have to be on a couple antibiotics that are IV type for about a month once I leave here. Also, I will have to go to the local hospital a couple times a week to have a infusion of Dobutamine. My blood numbers are not looking all that great. The Dobutamine will buy me some time, I guess.

I am looking forward to Midnight mass in a couple days. Please join me in a pray for world peace and for those that need Gods love and care in the coming week ahead.

Take care and God bless,
Paul

Christmas greetings

Thank you for posting, Paul. I don't usually comment on your posts because I really never have much to say to help you. But I wanted to wish you well, and say "heck yeh" to insisting on getting out for mass on Christmas Eve. As a kid I loved midnight mass. It was magical and added so much more anticipation to the big day.
Blessings to you and your family.
Merry Christmas

At times this HF has put me down to were I wouldn't wish this on nobody. If anything that I learn is that things don't happen overnight. As to the "why me?" I don't try to second guess as to why. Not that I haven't in the past, but I'm only a man.

Good new. They planning to get a picc line in tomorrow. That way I will be going home tomorrow some time. The bad new is that I'm now off of Dobutamine all together. That was my speed so to speak. I will have to go to a local hospital a couple times a week for a Dobutamine infusion.

I'm tired now, so I hope everyone has a good one.

God's plan

by ohiolaura - 2013-12-22 09:12:03

I'd say He has a plan for you, keeping you here, despite the bumps in the roads you travel down.
You are a example of being determined and keeping up the fight.
Please enjoy your family, and I know you will get to enjoy your Christmas mass,I have to say, reading your posts for awhile now,you have been an inspiration in many ways.
Ive said this before, and I do mean it, you have been on my nightly prayer list for a long time,I pray for you,as well as others I know who are in need also.
I believe were here for a reason,to help one another,in many ways.
Please have a blessed Christmas.
Laura

Christmas Greetings Paul !

Thank You for your update as hardly a Sunday morning that I don't think of you. You have been a great support for me & so many others. Reading above of infection control really rings a bell for me as I also learned about dealing with a picc line for 7 weeks this past summer while in a hospital & care facility. I was very fortunate to be most comfortable through out the whole ordeal and also learned to be patient.
Hopefully you will be able to enjoy our Christmas season with a little joy. As usual, I will continue my prayers for you. God Bless You Paul !!

I am not planning on letting any of this shorten my life. I am planning on living a long happy battery operated life. You never know maybe it will keep me alive longer. I sure know one thing I would have been dead before starting school without it.
