The Merlin doesn't make a sound when it is being used at night. When I had mine I was wondering if it was being done until I got a letter from my doctors saying everything was fine with it. Unfortunately I can't use it any more. When my pm was replaced over the summer my doctor switched from St Jude to Medtronic. I can do home checks but they're not done automatic, I have to call it in.

my merlin

hi there
I have had my merlin for 6 months. there should not be any noise after the initial hookup. mine takes a reading every night between 2-4 AM. if there is a concern i am notified. alerts are sent to my clinic and docs office.
also, there is a check conducted on the machine once a week.
my understanding is that every 3 months a check is conducted and I am notified that all is well. there is no daily notification unless there is a problem. I have not had any issues.
you might want to check with your clinic regarding daily readings.

In fact after the final "tweaks" of my pacemaker programming at the one year check up it is working so well that I forget I have it.
