It's all in your head!

I have the same set up, a St. Jude PM2240 with 2 leads. It's my first one, implanted on 11/20/14. I've noticed a lot of things that are different due to the pm, all of them good. I do not hear or feel my heart beat in my head, like you do, but I do feel my heart beat at times. My pm is set to 60 bpm. Since my pm, I have noticed I feel much better, have more energy and no longer feel like crap all the time. My best guess regarding your situation is that your body is responding to the "new and improved" model of pacemaker. Was your previous model a St. Jude? Remember, if you had it for 9 years, the technology has changed. Maybe your body is adjusting to the new model and that may be causing some physical as well as psychological issues. Always good to check with the doctor.

I have a well tuned pacer. I hardly know I have it. I am 76 year old, hike and camp alone in the desert. I have more energy than I have had in a long time. The only problem is my wife wants to have a knob installed so she can turn the pacer down.
The only thing I can think of...

The only thing I can think is they may have the voltage set a little higher on your new PM versus your old. Or your old PM wasn't delivering as much of a charge to initiate a heartbeat.
Right after they inserted my PM they had the voltage set higher. I'd sometimes feel the tickle from the PM as it initiated the heartbeat followed by the thump of my heartbeat. Other times I'd get a pulsing in my left jaw. Other times pain in my left jaw. Other times would go into coughing jags as I wouldn't be expecting my heart to initiate a beat when it did.
In any case, it would be a question to ask.
Isn't it great you've got a strong heartbeat? Hope you get an answer.
