Helllo Pacemaker chek up

Hi I have a medtronic enrythum pm since 2005 just went in for a
check yesterday seems all is well it is getting low but they said it
is at 2.89 and does not hit EOL til 2.81 so hopefully it will last a
while longer her said maybe another year it showed me pacing at
33.7 % in one place then another place i saw a 66.7 atrial is only
0.1 % this model does not show approx time left so its a guessing
game .it also shows i was in af on several occasions and vt on one
occasion which i don't understand the difference.just curious if
anyone who has medicare and medical had any issues when
needing a replacement do i have to get approved for it can the
government decide my fate by not allowing a replacement .just
wondering lol
Thanks Valerie HAPPY HOLIDAYS

Medicare Post 1 Jan 2014

Who knows what they have in mind for us. There have NOT been a lot of details.

Thus far, I've had no problems w/ Medicare approval for a replacement, nor has anyone else reported any.

I've seen or read nothing about how we Medicare people will be treated.

I suspect that there will not be any dramatic changes immediately after 1 Jan - BUT w/ all the changes in doctors & insurance plans, we do not know.

Short of lightning striking, you will have time to figure out what you will have to do to get a PM replacement in the event that the device goes into its EOL mode.

The world is NOT going to stop turning on 1 Jan; neither will people have their health care instantly stopped in the event of emergency or critical needs. That just is NOT in the nature of American physicians.

My eight year old son had a pacemaker since he was 6 months old. He does very well, plays soccer, baseball, and rides his bike. I am so glad he is not ashamed of his pacemaker. He will proudly show his "battery" to anyone.
