Just have a question about taking fish oil .I have had PM since 2005 for tachy/brady syndrome and i also have afib.just wondering if anyone takes any fish oil products and have they had any problems and are they safe to take .I know sounds kinda dumb but some where i while back i read something about taking fish oil and having a PM .can't seem to find anything about it online so just curious.Thanks

yrs now, In fact, few yrs ago my ANP recommended I double my dose to help with my arthritis. So I take 2 in AM & 2 at night (total of 4000mg/day). I do think it has helped & certainly has not hurt. I was told to take it frozen (keep in freezer) so as not to be bothered by fishy taste.

I take it, my dr thinks it's a good idea. They are safe with no side effects. There is nothing specific about taking it with a pm, it's just good for overall cardiac health.

I used to take fish oil, but recently went to flax seed... no fishy smell or taste, and I actually like the taste of the toasted flax seed.( bought it at Trader Joes ).. use it in yogurt, cereal, good stuff..sometimes I'll take a small hand full and just eat the crunchy stuff strtaight up...
hey... speaking of supplements...what about things like co Q10 ?... anyone take this ??? are there any supplements that interfere with the pacemakers duties?? .. just wondering...

..... anyone takes ANY health supplements ! I may be a lone voice but why take a chemical compound ( which all supplements are ) at dosages which have never been tested ?
Health supplements are not subject to the same tests on dosage, efficacy and side-effects which apply to prescription drugs.
Eating mackerel may be good for you but nobody in their right mind would suddenly eat 100 mackerel !

IAN MC yes at long last l am in agreement with you.l think as long as you have a sensible diet (and l don't mean a boring one) there is no need for supplements.
lf you eat a good balanced diet & have all the "naughty stuff" in moderation what more do you need?
Like you say, how can eating the equivalent of a shoal of fish in one sitting be good for you?

Across the UK we've got so-called " Health Food " stores.
Some of them are deliberately given an apothecary feel which suggests that their businesses are science-based. This is all part of a massive marketing con trick...... because in fact the absolute opposite is true.
There is virtually no science behind most of the supplements which these places peddle. At best they won't do any harm , at worst .. God only knows !
