Anyone had this done and what was noticeable benefits after repair/etc.

You know you're wired when...
You fondly named your implanted buddy.

It is just over 10 years since a dual lead device was implanted for complete heart block. It has worked perfectly and I have traveled well near two million miles internationally since then.

......................I had a replacement Aortic Valve just over seven years ago, here in the UK. I had torn my valve through exertion ( uncommon) and was told that I had had a wonky valve from birth called a Pseudobicuspid.
In the period between diagnosis and operation my heart had enlarged by 50% and that is when the op was done...heart was over working due to high rate of 'Regurg'.
I elected for a Tissue Valve, rather than mechanical as I didn't want to be on Warfarin. Op was a total success..walking next day..home in five days..first 7 mile race in twelve weeks..first half-marathon at six months.
Manaman..you will feel SO much better. Try and get to theatre reasonably fit and at a decent weight and make a list of all the things that you could do when you get home like reading, music, walking..I even did a bit of light decorating. As with a PM, take care when reaching for stuff in cubs and keep away from kids with trolleys in supermarkets !!
Let us know how you get on.
Best wishes Tattoo Man
PS the only pain that you are likely to get is a sore back as a result of rib retraction and discomfort when coughing...they will show you how to deal with that using a folded up towel against your chest...I pinched mine from the hospital as a souvenir !
