2-year anniversary

Celebrated my two-year anniversary with my pm last week by getting a kale plant. I have this idea of getting a new edible plant every year to commemorate my pm, because like my pm, it can help keep me alive. Unfortunately, the mint I got last year for my one-year anniversary has since died. I think I killed it. Or, could have been that the container was too small. This time, I've transplanted my kale into a larger self-watering planter to avoid killing it. So far so good. It's growing and appears to be thriving, just as I am with my pm. In fact, I've already started eating it :D The kale, not my pm.

...eat my PM than kale. Got introduced to it sometime back in about 1957 as "Chopped, buttered kale." That was the first & last time I ever ate any - though I did not eat much of it then.

Dunno if you are up on mint in the garden, but you are lucky it died. Had it lived, it would have taken over the entire garden like a noxious weed. It grows & spreads like kudzu.

I think thats really a smart way to celebrate your anniversary every year.Positive and healthy, very smart.
Good luck on the kale, never tried that before in the garden.Better to eat the plant, not the pm,might be tough to get to and bad on the teeth!

Yummy

I dunno, but everything I've made with it has been really good! I've blended it raw into a smoothie with great success. Can see the little green fragments floating around in the smoothie, but can't taste it at all. Great way to sneak in the veg. I've also steamed it, then dressed it with a mixture of olive oil, lemon juice, shoyu, and s & p. It holds up really well to heat; doesn't get soggy like spinach.
