Happy Holidays Everyone,
It has been a very long time since I wrote, everything has been good. I was wondering if anyone knows if St. Jude takes back an unused home device for ICD> I was sent one 2 years ago, forgot about it.(dr. likes for patients to come in) I did send St. Jude an e-mail asking if they will take it back, box never opened. If they don't, does anyone know where I can donate it to?

I don't know about St. Jude, but Boston Scientific sent me a double order of the home monitor Latitudes, the second one several months after the first. I was told that once it leaves their hands they can't take it back for any reason. It has a serial number for a specific patient.

I donated it to the Electrophysiology Dept. of the University of Chicago Hospitals where my PM was installed and they were elated to have it for demonstrations and training purposes so that future PM recipients could see what they were goning to get and how to use it.

What exactly is a home monitor? I'm with the military overseas and am interested in one if it would allow my Doctor to check the PM by phone.

that the home monitor lets your doctor/clinic checkyour pm/icd by your phone. I'm not sure if it would work overseas, you would have to check with your doctor. I have one here that I can ship to you free if all the doctors ok it.
