check up

Hi Everyone,
yesterday I went for my 6 monthly check up and they found that I had had 65 incidences of rapid beats over 200. I feel that the meds I am on are not working but they think it's ok.

also, just recently I had an infection in the wound even though I had the pm changeover in October. the infection has gone but I still have pain just under the site which travels up my neck. the pain is there constantly, and when I told them this yesterday they told me I would just have to live with it.

I'm not happy with this answer but I now have noone to go to as they have discussed it with my cardiologist who can't offer any suggestions.

thanks
Katherine

You might want to ask to be referred to an infectious disease specialist to confirm the infection is gone.

Are you feeling the incidents over 200?

second opinion

Hi! Katherine, You seem to be dealing with several issues and not feeling secure with your current medical care. You did not mention why you do not feel your medications are working for you. I presume you are not just referring to the infection. Perhaps, you need a second opinion to ascertain if your lack of confidence in your current care is well founded. Definitely, make sure the infection is completely gone. Please keep us posted. Follow your instincts, as you know your body best. Hopeful Heart

Episodes of tachycardia

Hi Katherine.
I've had my pm for three years and at my November , 2012,pacing session the EP nurse found 'episodes of tachycardia.' She spoke to a cardiologist who arranged for me to have an angiogram and an echogram. He also put me on three meds including bisoprolol. In the event the scans showed no particular problem, apart from issues relating to my age, and he suggested that I continue with the meds. ie asprin, bisoprolol and a statin.
As Hope suggests you might like to seek a second opinion.
