healing

Hello,
i just have a quick question. how long does it usually take for the wound to heal fully?

I had my pm changed in october last year, and half the wound has healed fully but the other half is still tender to touch.

It wont be anything to do with stiches, as I wasn't stiched, I was glued.

Hello Katherine. I understand your concerns. I had my first pacemaker last July (single lead\), it was deemed inappropriate, so had a two lead inserted iin September. I am an active 65 year woman, and was concerned about soreness and sensitivity in scar area and surrounding tissues. I was advised to wait at least 6 months to a year for full recovery from the two surgeries. I still have sensitivity and soreness , especially following activities. \but it is bearable. Better than no ticker !

Like Hurt Heart said some days it's tender other days I don't feel a thing. I try not to touch the site -- sometimes it itches me as well. I'm careful with my clothes not to irritate it. I was also glued No stitches. It's been a year for me and I'm healed-- it took a long time. Sometimes my bra rubs against the pm site. I bought the protection pad to help.
