Hi everyone,
I am just wondering if it is normal to still have pain that feels like someone is sticking four needles into your pm sight. I had the pm & leads replaced on 8th October, and still find it hard to sleep on my left side at night. Then periodically I get these stabbing pains.
should I just mention it to my doctor next time I see her?
thanks
Katherine

In fact after the final "tweaks" of my pacemaker programming at the one year check up it is working so well that I forget I have it.
I'd Ask Too

Hi Katherine,
I would mention it next time you're in for an appointment, but it could be as easy as you're PM site, scar, or pocket is still healing. Most of us have experienced, or are experiencig similar feelings in the PM site area. Also, I wonder if your new PM is situated a little differently than your old one, which could be the issue as well.
Sometimes, I still get that feeling in my scar, other times, my PM edges cause a problem (sharp, rubbing, uncomfortable). I'd ask to see what may be causing your problem. I use Vitamin E oil on my scar to help it heal. It helps it not feel so tight too.
If it's the edges of your PM that is bothering underneath your skin, I was told there isn't anything you can do about that. Hopefully, someone else out here will tell you something different. My docs say women tend to have more trouble with this because we are normally thinner, especially in that area.
The edges of my PM where the leads attach into the device bother me. They were good until I did some weight lifting chest moves and/or pushups that caused the device to turn/shift and come a little closer to the surface which made it more uncomfortable for me. I was told that cannot be fixed until my next change out (which hopefully will be a long time!)
Good luck, and I hope someone else out here has a better answer for you.
