hi everyone
I probably should know this but, how long does it usually take to feel normal after having your pm & lead changed,
I was feeling great by the fourth week, but now on the seventh week, I have pain around the wound (no swelling but a little pink) the pain is also along my shoulder and up my neck.
I have just had the check up and told the tech this & he said not to worry about it. & that it not to do with the pm & cause there is no swelling, there is no infection.
any suggestions would be appreciated
Katherine

hi! my first pm which was six years ago. I remember having a lot of shoulder and neck pains. I told the drs and tech., of course they said it wasn't related to the pm. but I think it was, it adventually went away. But my shoulder/neck has given me issues on and off. I finally changed my sleeping pillow and how I positioned my neck at night and vit finally got better..
well Wednesday I'm having a new icd put in and a new wirs. I will hopefully know better about how to position myaelf at night., sorta like stiff neck is maybe why the neck n shoulder hurts.

If you are feeling worse than you were a few weeks ago, go back and get someone else to look at it. If there is any chance at all that it's infected, you want to jump on it as soon as possible. Pink and shooting pains is most likely just the nerves knitting back together and the incision healing, but better safe than sorry. There are a lot of signs of infection other than swelling, get a nurse or dr to look at it, not a tech.
