Since I joined the PM Club in 2004 I have made many friends all over the world. As a lot of you folks know I live in a quite an isolated part of Australia on the island of Tasmania. When I got my pm I fetl desolate, lonely and isolated, then I found this site when looking for a support group.
This morning I had a phone call from Alma Annie. We just talked and talked. Alma Annie lives in South Australia. She has family in Tasmania. When I was expressing my sadness some time ago regarding my son, Alma Annie came to the fore with support, love and advice and prayers. What a lovely person. Such kindness and friendship offered. As I say angels come in all shapes and sizes. What a positive point in my life. And I thought I was going to have a quiet day. How exciting the morning has been so far.
As you probably know we have serious fires here in Tasmania as does the rest of Australia. We have had one small community competely burnt out. Folks have lost their houses and there are 100 people unaccounted for. Alma Annie had tried to ring me earlier in the week and her first question was: "Are you ok in the fires?" I have no extended family here in Australia and to hear these words from a total stranger and the concern showed was so good. Yes life is good. God is good. the path is a bit rough at the moment but I have so many blessings to be thankful for.
Just wanted to share with you all how good our PM club is and how far it can reach. Right into our hearts!!
Have a good day. Billie

Not strangers
by Alma Annie - 2013-01-08 01:01:39
Thanks for your kind comments Billie. I don't think of us or anyone here as strangers. We are all mates in common with common problems. I have learnt such a lot from this site as my EP tells me nothing, and for a while I had no idea what a pm was supposed to do.
I am keeping tabs on the fires and hear that in one area the residents have been told to evacuate again as it is flaring up again. Now New South wales is in danger. That is on the eastern side of Australia
Angry Sparrow, yes we do have water bomber helicopters but there is only so much they can do.

Blue ~ we go aways back in Friendship. Thank you for being one of the many first ones who gave me good, educated advice on to get and/or not to get a PM in 2009. You are a cherished Friend.
We have a good Friend of my Daughter's who lives in Sydney, Australia ~ she and I Facebook all the time.
Good to hear from you. I look at the posts, but am not on this site as often as I would love to be and/or used to be.
Love you, Blue,

Tassie

Hi Blue,
I am a Tassie now living in N. Victoria. That's after meeting a special man from here. All my family are in Tassie. One son at Forcett, he is ok at moment, daughter inlaw evacuated but is ok; dont know if her house is still standing at Eaglehawke Neck. We have a niece missing from Primrose Sands. Probably ok but we just don't know. No contact since Friday. I get very homesick for Tassie and my friends and family. Hard to make new friends when you're in your 60's. I joined this site, terrified when I had to have a Pm. Sick Sinus Syndrome. What a wonderful resource. It has been my saving grace.
Hope you are ok there, sending love and good thoughts over that "bit of water" to Tassie and you. xx
You know you're wired when...
You participate in the Pacer Olympics.

I wouldn't be here if it were not for this amazing technology inside of me.
