living by high voltage power line easement

I am looking to purchase a new home and looked at a gorgeous one but there was an electrical power line easement a couple of doors down. There were now transformers, just power lines. If I had to guess, the lines were about 50 yards away and do not cross over the property. Does living this close present a problem for folks who are 100% paced like me?

High Voltage Lines. How close is a limit for one to be near high voltage power lines?
I don't climb towers but I live near them.

Hi,
I asked my EP the same question. They are close to our home and I drive underneath them daily. He told me there was no concern.- gle

no problem

It's fine. Just don't climb the poles ;)

My side yard has an easement. At the back of it (equivalent of one lot over) is all the transformers. I've walked around them and never felt a thing. I'm paced every beat so I'd know pretty quickly.

Thanks for the responses

I appreciate all of your responses. I did call the power company and found out that it was a 230 KV transmission line. Medtronic called me with a response similar to all of your responses.

Thanks again. Now I have to go bargain for a good price on the property.

Power lines.

I don't think it will have any effect on pm, but from what I have heard it can have an effect on general health. Nothing proven, just what people have been saying after living that close. So it is up to you, but do some research.

Not a big deal. I went to Google Maps & looked up Modesto, CA, where you live. I got down close & personal to the point where I could see all the power lines across the city. There were NONE that I described in a pvt msg to you. All were single pole pylons w/ multiple cross bars on them, pushing 50-80 ft tall & running very close to housing areas. They had to be pretty darned tall, based on the distances between them to allow for sagging wires. Their only easements were actually being used by residents for landscaping - none were kept clear of trees & shrubbery. The largest ran North-South along the side of what appeared to be a wide dry wash across the entire city. I did not see a single power generating plant in or near the city, so the super high voltage lines just did not exist near the city.

One of our members lives near a nuclear plant in Northern VA, near Charlottesville. They have some Whopping big transmission lines coming out of the plant that droop pretty close to the road at one point on her commute route. She reported having strange sensations when driving under them, but nowhere else. It is definitely possible, but most likely not from 230KV lines atop tall pylons.
