Good afternoon,
Has anyone with an ICD had Hernia Surgery???
I have a Boston Scientific
CRT-D/ICD...Pacemaker/Defibrillator...and just passed my 3 year anniversary...so far so good, I've only had one shock which occurred last February.
10 years ago, my doctor diagnosed me with Bilateral Inguinal Hernias and suggested surgery. I chose to stall as long as possible since they were not causing any pain, just occasional discomfort on the right side. He respected my decision and said more than likely I'd require surgery in the future and encouraged me to stay in touch and have them checked occasionally.
Today my doctor said, not only do I have the Bilateral Inguinal Hernias, but now I have an abdominal hernia as well.
He is ready to operate and says we should consider doing all three hernias at once. He says he prefers mesh and general surgery versus laproscopic surgery.
He said that Boston Scientific would be contacted and a representative would be onscene at the surgery.
Any feedback will be appreciated!
Thanks!
Ron

I am just now 40 but have had these blackouts all my life. I am thrilled with the pacer and would do it all over again.
