Need Female Input Please

I am 35 years old, I was initially implanted when I was only five years old (just a baby) I later found out that I had Congenital Heart Block. The first few Pacemakers were always put in my left abdomen however the last two or three have been put in my left shoulder/chest & I am finding it hard to wear a brazier as the plastic ring in the better bras sit right on my pacemaker & irritate me no end, I would love to wear a sport/pullover cotton bra but altho I am of perfect cup size I am too wide around the trunk/ribs so I would probably need them made for me specifically & I would love to have someone out there who would be willing to make them for me...any idea where I could go to get them done? Please don't leave your reply JUST on the board please also email it to Carolina.Anne.Frendo@rogers.com as I am often unable to get back here to read the board due to unrelated physical illness that leaves me in bed & online only by lap top where I cannot always get to the site I want when my laptop is being stubborn

Hello Ronnie, If I were you I would contact the maker of the bras that you prefer to wear directly. I would explain the situation you have found yourself in... that the design of the bras does not fit your needs, or that of millions of women around the world who are also pacemaker dependent.
I think as a whole we women need to speak up. There is a lot of power in many voices together. I will email you directly, but "Women please hear the plea" let's make our needs known. Let's write some emails and some letters. If we had breast cancer you know that there is a bra for that. Why not for us? I don't believe it is too much to ask! Let's work to get those rings repositioned! As for you men, don't you wish for us to have the same comforts as everyone else?
Best regards, Pacergirl
P.S. Bras should be comfy and pretty.... NOT PAINFUL!

Victoria's secret

There are some Victoria's secret bras that may help. The demi cup has a strap that hits wide on the shoulder and does not touch my incision mark. They also have push up that have extra support only under th corner of the breast so the pm is not affected. Try the Very Sexy collection - you can shop online. My question - Does anyone have pain close to and during menstration when the breats is fuller? I have been getting a pulling down pain so bad that I can't take my bra off.

Bra help

by nanaroro - 2013-02-11 09:02:05

I too cannot stand the pain and irritation from bra's and bathing suits over my ICD area. I just found a bathing suit from Eddie Bauer that is a romper style that should work. Also the only bra that seems tolerable are the Geni or Ahh bras, but I really need more support on certain occasions. I was fitted before my surgery and spent a good amount on
Soma bra's but they kill after about an hour. Has anyone tried the new spanx bra's? I am going to have to go try them. Really all we need is a full strap with full coverage and support. I don't mean a big nana bra, I just think if the cut come more from the center separation, then it would be less pressure on the sides where the straps are...if ANYONE has found comfort in a bra let me know. Thanks!

At age 20, I will be getting a pacemaker in few weeks along with an SA node ablation. This opportunity may change a five year prognosis into a normal life span! I look forward to being a little old lady with a wicked cane!
